Location: Maale Adummim, Israel
Client: Netivei Israel
Israel's National Roads Company facilitate the design of a new exit ramp from Maale Adummim City to Highway 1 westward. The new highway alignment will be constructed atop an embankment, with a bridge design over Highway 1. The total length of the bridge spans is approximately 79 m, and is divided into three spans.
End spans measure 21.6 m each, while the central span over Highway 1 extends for 35.5 m. The bridge piers include three circular columns with a diameter of 100 cm each.To streamline construction and align with nearby infrastructure, the bridge's construction sequence involves 160 cm deep precast girders and subsequent casting of 25 cm thick in-situ casting above the girders.
After evaluating multiple alternatives, the finalized bridge design incorporates elastomeric bearings at the abutments and monolithic connections at the piers. Expansion joints are positioned at bridge ends to accommodate horizontal expansion.
The bridge was fully modelled using Revit software in 3D.leveraging this technology provided invaluable insights and precision in determining the exact positioning of the bridge structure. With 3D modelling capabilities, we were able to visualize and analyses the bridge alignment with unparalleled accuracy, ensuring optimal placement within the project site and the exact location of the straight girder compared to the slope of the casting above.
