Location: Netanya, Israel
The Havatzelet bridge in Netanya is a 5-span vehicular bridge which crosses Israel’s Avichail National Park, and is designed to connect a new neighborhood in the north of Netanya to Route 2. The bridge is 150m long, and is comprised of two separate cast-in-place concrete decks with shared abutments. The width of the bridge varies from 14m on the western side to 29m on the eastern side, for each deck. The bridge deck construction was divided into three meticulously designed casting phases with continuous prestressing tendons.
The bridge has been designed to provide access to residential areas, offices and public institutions in this new neighborhood.
In addition to the bridge, our team have designed several retaining walls and an ecological underpass, to sustainably limit the impact on the local wildlife and environment.
Kedmor have acted as the Structural Engineer of Record and the Architects on this project. The entire project was modelled in 3D using BIM technology, and analyzed using advanced finite element software.
Construction began in September 2023.
